Positive Action in Housing (Scottish Registered Charity No SC027577) is a homelessness charity which provides a hardship fund and emergency free shelter for destitute people seeking asylum. The Hardship fund gives crisis payments to those at risk of being destitute. This Christmas, we desperately need donations to allow us to continue this much needed humanitarian work. We are facing one of the severest winters and need to ensure we can give additional support to those people who need it.
Its been a challenging year and a highly productive year in which we have
delivered on almost every front. And it would be a great boost for our
staff, volunteers and management committee, to receive messages of
support from everyone who is aware of our work or been in contact with
Positive Action in Housing as partners, service users, funders etc. A
selection of messages are shown below.
Exactly a year since the triple suicide of the Sehryk family from the Red Road high rises in Glasgow, there has still been no investigation into the circumstances of their deaths, and to what extent, if any, the UK Borders Agency was culpable.
Increasing numbers of people seeking asylum in the UK are being left utterly destitute, with no access to housing, employment or welfare support.
Positive Action in Housing's Destitution service provides a hardship fund for destitute asylum seekers with no recourse to public funds and arranges short-term accommodation with volunteers.
We require urgent donations to support this lifeline service and we are looking for individuals or teams to run the Glasgow 10K to raise money through our JustGiving page.
The PAIH Hardship Fund provides destitute refugees with food, shelter and access to legal advice. You can help us to help others by donating directly to PAIH via JustGiving.
