Welcome to Positive Action in Housing's New Site PDF Print E-mail

Positive Action in Housing is a Scottish Charity working to enable everyone to have an equal chance to live in good quality, affordable and safe homes, free from discrimination, racial harassment and violence.

 

Over the past few months, we have been working on our website, changing the structure and incorporating many of our sites into one. 

 

We always felt at home in Glasgow. Now that we have the right to stay, we can fully concentrate on our studies and jobs that we want to.”

  

  

What's New?

Our new site does not only look good, there are lots of new features our Service Users, Members and Supporters can use. Here are a few new features and changes;

  • Follow Our Work - Find out more about the work we carry out and who we are working with

  • Comment - Now you can comment on articles we post and track back to your own site or blog

  • Members Section - A section exclusive to our members has been introduced

  • Videos - A new feature allowing us to embed videos within articles

  • New Quickmail - A new look Quickmail with the latest News, Jobs and Events every week

  • Subscribe - You can now subscribe to daily updates to our site

  • Support us - New ways to donate and support our work have been introduced with a faster more secure way to donate through Paypal!

  • Case Studies - Find out more from the people our services are benefiting and their stories

  • Photo Galleries - See some of the new photographs we have been taking along the way

Mary became destitute with her twins last year after escaping an attempted Dawn Raid. In July 2007, she was granted indefinite leave to remain after her case was reviewed.We are not completely finished yet; over the new few months, we will be launching more sections of the website including;

  • Asylum Destitution in Scotland - this section of the site will include case studies, interviews with volunteers and people made destitute, campaign materials & videos,our quarterly Destitution Bulletin withfacts and figures from our caseworkers and more information on what you can do to help!

  • New Migrants Action Project - keep up to date with one of our newest projects working with working with communities and service providers across Scotland to promote equality of rights, opportunities and access to support for new migrant communities.

  • Equality and Diversity Training - Our Training Service aimsto provide high quality training, targeted at statutory and public sector bodies within the housing sector and beyond, as well as with community and voluntary organisations.Organisations can keep up-to-date with new courses designed for frontline staff.   • This is me... - Meet the people we work with, individuals and professionals working at challenging racism through their own methods within their own community. This brand new section of the site will feature video interviews, photos and articles about ordinary people doing extraordinary things across Scotland.
