Claudiu
Claudiu faced intense pressure to provide for his family throughout the pandemic, which was compounded by difficulties with his Universal Credit application.

Working part-time at minimum wage throughout the pandemic, Claudiu was struggling to make ends meet for his family. He didn’t know where to start making a Universal Credit application, as it wasn't clear whether he was self-employed or employed.
New Migrants Action Project helped him complete the online application, send in more information about his work and a share code for his and his wife’s EUSS status, and submit a mandatory reconsideration when his claim was refused, which was accepted after weeks of waiting.
I work hard to provide for my family, but we didn’t know our rights. One thing I know, if you hadn’t helped us, we wouldn’t be settled here and building a future.
