The housing crisis is due to systemic failure, not people from refugee backgrounds. Blaming vulnerable groups such as the poor or refugees risks division and overlooks decades of underinvestment and poor housing policy.

Europe’s first and only Palestinian Museum opens in Edinburgh
Europe’s first museum of contemporary Palestinian art opened in Edinburgh on Saturday, 17 May. Located at 13a Dundas Street, the Palestine Museum in Scotland offers a permanent space for Palestinian artists to share their stories and challenge dehumanising narratives through art.

As we approach the end of the year
As we approach the end of 2024, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for supporting Positive Action in Housing. Your generosity helps us give a voice to some of the most vulnerable people in our society —those who are forced to rely on charity due to enforced impoverishment, unable to work because of legal restrictions, and experiencing homelessness and destitution as a result. Many of those we support are also vulnerable due to age, illness, discrimination, or the lack of a support system.

Tonight Balerno Village Screen will be screening Ken Loach’s last film, made with his long term script writer Paul Laverty, The Old Oak, (Cert 15). The Screening with be attended by Multi BAFTA & Cannes award winner, Paul Laverty and our CEO Robina Qureshi.
